COMPLAINING… LEADS TO DESTRUCTION

Happy Monday!

I just wanted to spread a little positivity and motivation to the world this morning. I know that most people don’t like Mondays and the weekend flies by each week but there are more positives than negatives. A lot of people dread Mondays because that means they have to go back to work, to a job that they probably don’t enjoy. The bright side to that is you are employed, you’re able to make money to provide for yourself or others, you have a social life and get to see others every day. There are some people who have just gotten fired, or they’re  disabled so they may not be able to even leave the house.

I work at a hospital so I am always in contact with people who are very bad off or have disabilities. Their main wishes are to get better and go home. They can’t see the beautiful weather or experience the sun on their skin for sometimes weeks on end. They can’t eat what they want to or home cooked meals unless a family member brings some in. They get lonely because they can’t just leave when they want to, and some of them may not even have the capability to pick up the phone and call someone to talk to.

We all have bad moments in our lives and it’s okay to acknowledge those moments and vent to get through them, but to continuously complain over simple things such as not wanting to walk down the hall to get something, you’re leading yourself down a dangerous and destructive path that is going to suck every drop of happiness you ever could’ve had. You’ll start complaining about everything and everybody to the point that you’re just miserable.

I challenge everyone today to write down 20 things that you are truly grateful for right now. I know that most posts usually say to write down 10 things each day but I’m choosing 20 because once you start thinking about all of the thing you’re grateful for, you could go way beyond 10.. you could probably go way past 30 if  you thought about everything big and small.

Just please take the time to really enjoy life and everything that it has to offer. Nature, music, work, traveling, etc. The world is so beautiful and complex, be grateful that you have the ability to experience it in the unique way that you do.

Be happy and smile,

Sydney
